We are providing space for Sac Poets to meet up and share some amazing poetry with our community. 

This event is free to attend with or without a poem and snacks will be provided by the Society. Please come out and support some amazing local artists as they share their work.

We are opening Tuesday night for a new horror novel release party. Bitter Karella will be sharing her newest horror novel, Quaint Folk, and a new anthology of Trans body horror stories from Tenebrous Press. We'll have a fireside chat with Karella, reading from the author, book signing and Q&A.

RSVP to reserve a signed copy of Quaint Folk and to be entered to win a gift certificate to Bloodstone Books. RSVP price covers the price of the novel. You must be present at the event to claim the giveaway prize. Copies of Your Body is a Fever Dream will also be available for purchase and signing while supplies last.

Details: Vampire trivia night all about our favorite blood sucking monsters. Trivia starts at 6:30pm and will run until 8:30pm with a break for snacks and shopping in the middle. Snacks and water will be provided but feel free to bring your own snackage. 

One ticket per attendee. If you want to play on a team with your friends, please purchase your tickets all together in one transaction. Space is limited, please buy your tickets as soon as you can.

We're hosting an Author's Against Book Bans Postcard Party. RSVP for free so we know how many tables to set up. Link below to rsvp and details of the proposed bans. 

Please come to the store Friday 10/9 anytime between 5pm and 7pm to write a postcard to your local rep. We'll have a list of reps, list of proposed federal bans and handy templates to start from. All postcards and supplies will be provided. 

IF YOU ARE A LOCAL AUTHOR, PLEASE COME ATTEND, TELL YOUR FOLLOWERS, AND ADD YOUR VOICE TO THIS EFFORT. 

We want folks to show up and speak out against these federal book bans that are being proposed.

Details: Fictional Tiff will be hosting the Sacramento chapter of the Silent Book club at our store! Bring a book and a chair, come hangout and shop with fellow readers, then spend an hour reading quietly with each other.

Details: We will be popping up with a tiny mighty bookstore at the Saclastic Book Fair hosted by Hey Daisy Studio in October. There will be a ton of authors, artists, food and other vendors there are as well. Be sure to check it out and bring your friends and family. We hope to see you there!

Free crafting club! Bring your current project and hangout with other craft-lovers while you work. 

Crafting starts at 5:30pm and will run until 7:00pm with plenty of breaks for shopping in the middle. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks. You can show up anytime after 5pm as space is available. Crafting materials will not be provided. 

If there is enough interest, we’d love to make this a regular thing for people to come hangout and craft on a weeknight. If you do attend, let us know what you think and if you’re interested in a regular meetup. Feel free to bring your friends!

Details: Bloodstone Books is turning 2 years old! To celebrate, we are taking over the parking lot in front of the store and hosting a dinner, bigger horror trivia night and Halloween costume contest. 

Horror Trivia starts around 6:30 and will run until 8pm. Food will be available for purchase from Bahay Kubo Food Truck. A queer-owned Filipino restaurant that we love. Their Filipino Banh Mi’s are incredible. 

Halloween costumes are optional but highly encouraged. Show your spooky spirit and give your costume a test run before Halloween.

We are hosting an author and artist market in the morning and early afternoon on Halloween. Come celebrate Bloodstone’s 2 year birthday, support some local authors, buy some matcha from The Point and get some free candy! 

The market will wrap before 5pm so folks have time to go trick or treating or get ready for their Halloween evening plans.
